| Syrian Rebels Attack And Capture Strategic
Jassim National Hospital | Syrian Civil War

Opposition forces targeted the national hospital in the town of Jasim, north-west of the countryside of the Daraa province. The hospital is being used as a strategic building by the Syrian Army as it lies on the of the main roads to the city.
According to opposition sources different brigades have joined the battle for the hospital, The Jerusalem Islamic group is one of the groups that posted a announcement claiming that "The battle has begun to liberate the Jassim National Hospital". There has also been rumors that Al-Nusra Front was involved in the battle. Known groups are Lions of Horan, Lewaa Almorabteen.
It is still unknown how many fighters have joined the battle or how many brigades are involved. The SNC(Syrian National Council) has not commented on this offensive yet. But the battle for this hospital has been going on for quite some time. First initial reports of heavy clashes started in december where some groups connected to the SNC have stated that they are willing to liberate the hospital from the Syrian army.
Local sources have claimed that the Syrian Army responded with heavy shelling and multiple air raids on militant positions. Some sources have claimed that the hospital has been totally blown up other sources have claimed that some parts of the building have been blown up by opposition forces.
